Cowboy Take Me Away

I said I wanna touch the earth
I wanna break it in my hands
I wanna grow something wild and unruly

I wanna sleep on the hard ground
In the comfort of your arms
On a pillow of bluebonnets
In a blanket made of stars

Oh it sounds so good to me

Cowboy take me away
Fly this girl as high as you can
Into the wild blue
Set me free oh I pray
Closer to heaven above and
Closer to you closer to you

I wanna walk and not run
I wanna skip and not fall
I wanna look at the horizon
And not see a building standing tall

I wanna be the only one
For miles and miles
Except for maybe you
And your simple smile

Oh it sounds good to me
Yeah it sounds so good to me

Lyrics to “Cowboy Take Me Away” by The Dixie Chicks

Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. Ralph Waldo Emerson

Snow Canyon and The Surrounding St. George Area

As much as the purpose of my trip to Utah was to see Zion National Park, I was really amazed at how beautiful the St. George area was as well. It really offered a lot of the same scenery as Zion, only on a smaller scale.

So here are some photos from Snow Canyon and the surrounding St. George area. Click on the first photo for a slide show. Enjoy!

Utah Teaser: Day 5

What a long and very exciting day today. We went to Zion National Park and I can honestly say it is one of the most unique and beautiful places I’ve seen in the US. I am so exhausted from hauling all my camera equipment while hiking some pretty good trails but I think I got some great shots.

For now, this is all I’m posting and I’m hitting the hay! I probably won’t post again until I have an opportunity to go through the 2000+ images I now have from this trip.

Here’s a tiny glimpse of the beauty we saw today.

We went through a little town called Rockville, all of 247 residents, and the street was lined with all these American Flags on each side of the street and I only caught about 1/3rd of the street. Happy President’s Day Weekend!

Savoring the Succulents

In preparation for my upcoming trip to Utah, I thought I’d post a few of my succulent photos. Not sure how much I’ll be posting while I’m gone (collectively now…awww) but I’m hoping to come back with some great images from Zion National Park and the surrounding area.

I love the symmetry on these plants.

I love how this variety produces these little purplish buds.

And how the stickers on this one looks like little crowns.

This one produces the prettiest bloom and I love the fuchsia color.

PS ~ thanks to all of you who have taken any interest in my blog and in two months have put me past 7000 views. This may not seem like much to many of you, but I had no idea that anybody would take any interest in what I had to offer. So, I do appreciate your time,  attention and kind comments. Thank you!
