“There was over a million sparkles on the water. Like that mountain lake. It was so clear, Jenny. It looked like there were two skies, one on top of the other.” Forrest Gump
I took a long weekend away and went to Jackson Hole, WY. What a beautiful part of the country! I stayed at a wonderful resort, Amangani, went to Yellowstone Park and the Grand Tetons and saw so many incredible animals.
I took over 1500 photographs, so having said that, you all will probably be looking at Wyoming pictures for the rest of the year!
Here’s today’s post from Jenny Lake in the Grand Teton Park. Apparently, Jackson Hole had a fairly large fire and was almost evacuated right before I arrived. You can see in the images taken above on my first sight-seeing day that they look a little hazy. Just for comparison, the picture below was taken on my last day there and you can see the difference in the air quality.
Lots, lots, lots more to come!!

Look forward to more wonderful photography.
Thanks, John.
Reblogged this on SKEdaddle.
Wow. Breath-taking!!
Thanks, Angelia. The whole area is breathtaking.
You know…this is my home state!!<<??
Lucky you! It is a really gorgeous area.
Reflections are like a double dose of beauty. I love the abstract appearance of some of these. The second from the bottom is my favorite; it’s as if the mountains are floating in space.
I like that ~ double dose of beauty.
Thanks Lily.
Beautiful!!!
Thanks, Carissa.
Incredible! I’d love to take a get-away trip there. And it really does remind me a lot of Forrest Gump (my favorite movie of all time)!
It is a beautiful area. A sight everyone should see.
So beautiful, Jenny.
Beautiful shots of a magnificent place. Your quote is perfect!
Thanks, Jane.
I was in Jackson Hole for conference; I fell in love! Beautiful shots. Can’t wait to see more..
It is a beautiful area. I wish I had more time there.
I felt the same way,, being there at a conference..I only had snippets of time.
Beautiful panoramic shots of the Grand Tetons up there in WY. Btw, do you use a UV filter over your lens?
I did use a filter on some of the images. There had been a fire in the area right before I arrived so it was very hazy the first few days I was there.
Gorgeous Photos
Thank you!
Stunning!
Thanks, Emily.
I am glad to see you had a clear day to capture Jenny Lake. When I was there the smoke was so thick due to the wildfires around the area. Did you enjoy Jackson Hole? Too bad there was a wildfire taking place. Too many of those these Summer. Thanks for sharing:)
I LOVED Jackson Hole and the whole surrounding area. It was still a little hazy the first day or two but did clear up by the end of our trip due to a little rain. It’s a beautiful area.
Hazy or clear, still stunning!
It really is a stunning sight in person.
1500 photos, huh? Bring it.
LOL! And ironically, I think I’m feeling overwhelmed because I haven’t posted much of anything since i’ve been back. I need to get going!
That is such a gorgeous area. A photographer’s dream.
It truly is!
Reflections! My very favorite photographs. These are beautiful.
Thanks, George!
