This quote was certainly true for me today. I spent the day reviewing some online photography lessons on both how to use my camera (what a concept!) and photography techniques, and then went outside to test some of what I had learned. It’s amazing how energized you can become when you have a little knowledge under your belt and start to understand things clearer.
I was playing around with the Aperture Mode and Exposure settings. I didn’t get around to the Shutter Mode as much as I would have liked so I could understand how to use the two settings. I still have a long way to go because my thick skull doesn’t seem to saturate everything as well as I’d like but it’s a start.
I don’t have anything too exciting to show you ~ it was only my backyard after all ~ but here are some images I took today.
Hope you all have a fantastic start to your week!

Great! Your backyard is very colorful.
Thanks, John. I think we’re seeing the tale end of the flowers blooming.
Maybe not exciting. But, pretty instead.
And, you practiced. Good for you.
Thanks, Ray. And thanks for all the good information you are always willing to share as well.
Super job playing with depth of field and a beautiful garden.
Hmmm…..maybe I need to review my camera’s manual….you got some beautiful photos.
Wonderful garden, Susan! These photos are really lovely. Really!
I was walking around today too and snapped some dried trumpet blossoms and other stuff. Fall will take the blossoms, but, you know, there are some “skeletal” remnants that are very interesting leftovers!
Wonderful images. You did good!
Those last flowers are really lovely! I’ve never seen them, what are they?
I didn’t think you need further photography lessons. Oh well, playing around with our cameras is always fun!
