I realize that the meaning of this photo challenge is to reflect “going on a trip” type of journey, but the first thing that came to mind for me was something different. So I am going to put a spin on the meaning and have it reflect what I consider my “spiritual” journey in life.
Although, I do believe there is a connection between our physical and spiritual journeys in life. I believe the more you open yourself up to the world around you, the more you grow and learn to accept and understand the world around you. Life is a beautiful adventure ~ so enjoy your journey every step of the way!

That’s a lovely image!
Thank you, mimo.
Love this photo. The tree branch over the bridge looks like a monster snake. Very cool
Yes, there are some very unusual trees located here.
I thought exactly the same thing!
Absolutely beautiful photo! I can absolutely imagine myself sitting on the bridge with my feet dangling over and watching the fish go by. Thanks for sharing!
That’s sweet ~ thank you!

This is so vivid…it almost looks like HDR. Beautiful!
Thanks, I know the tree for some reason really pops and I didn’t do anything special it’s just the way it was captured.

I love Japanese gardens and this is wonderful. The old twisted bough of the tree contrasts beautifully with the lines of the bridge.

Not only is there the serpent but in the upper right there is the cutest little fellow peaking out – creatues tha populate our journey.
that should of course, read ‘creatures’.
I saw the same thing. Every time I looked at this image, that corner caught my eye thinking something was there.

I love what you wrote to go with this beautiful photo. Thanks, ~ Lily
Thank you, Lily.
I can’t believe the quality of photos I see on WordPress blogs. This picture is absolutely gorgeous. I love the take on the connection between the physical and the spiritual as well. Wonderful post.
Not speaking of mine of course, but I completely agree ~ I am blown away at some of the extraordinary images I see here. Although I do post a lot of travel photos and stories, for some reason when I saw the title for this week’s challenge, the spiritual connection came up for me…maybe because it’s Good Friday.
Probably. At least that’s where I’d have gone. And YES I was talking about yours. Gorgeous.
Thank you!

I agree. I think that is why I am always at peace when I’m in natural surroundings. Modern man sometimes forgets he is an animal in a living world, it seems. I think when we surround ourselves with too much concrete, and too many technological gizmos, our spiritual essence is sometimes forgotten.
True!

I agree with everyone…this is a gorgeous photo. It almost feels like I could cross the bridge and enter the scene. Marvelous!
