Alright, well techniquely this is clean laundry but somehow dirty laundry sounds more fun.
This is how they do it in Venice, Italy…these photos were taken several years ago when I spent a few days in Venice. I just roamed around all the little alley ways and found it delightful that everyone hung their laundry out to dry like this. I fell in love with it.
There is something so carefree and beautiful about this to me. Maybe it’s my Italian heritage and the fact that I picture my ancestors doing this that warms my heart.

I see that you and I both have the same fascination! Wonderful photographs, I did the exact same thing while I was there!
I know, it almost becomes addicting.
Reblogged this on Conceptual Art.
Thank you for reblog.
Lovely photos.
great photos – when I travel I always turn my balconey into a laundry to this resonates – thanks
Hi,
Great photos. I think it’s great how people can come up with these ideas, when there is just nowhere to hang their washing, the clothes not only get dry but also aired as well. It would be interesting to know who originally came up with the idea all those years ago.
I love this post! Fantastic shots. Like prayer flags, the laundry waves! Each house tells a story. Each clothes line tells a story! Cheers! Theadora
I remebered seeing so much of this when I was in Italy! It brought me back memories
Love how the hanging laundry compliments the different colors of the old buildings. You even managed to make graffiti look beautiful.
SO cool. My sister does this on her farm, and I think it is so awesome! And it looks so beautiful, all the colors hanging together.
Thank you all for your kind comments.
Great photos with so many memories for many of us … also look at all the energy they saved!
They were “green” before it was cool to be green.
Very beautiful, I loved that post !
Aah, amazing! I’ve only been to Venice briefly once and have been wanting to go back so badly, over the past few weeks I keep on mentioning it. This post just makes me want to go back even more! Beautiful photos, so wonderfully captured, I almost feel like I’m there. Almost.
Beautiful shots! I remember when we went to Venice it was the day they were having their carnival. I wasn’t able to take a lot of good pictures and I was still in basic learning at the time. THanks for visiting my page
See ya!
like the pic very much!
Its crazy how those pictures made my travel bug super needy! LOVE LOVE LOVE
